In-house Quality Control Monitoring

Our Praecautio in-house QC monitoring swabs are designed to…

  • give rapid results (24 hours)
  • be easy to use
  • be inexpensive compared to lab tests

How they work…

The Praecautio swabs are designed to change colour in the presence of a target bacterial contaminant. If a specific colour change is seen, it indicates that that particular contaminant has been detected…and then steps can be taken to mitigate that risk.

We have three swabs…

  • E.coli
  • Staph aureus
  • Salmonella

We have been working with a local company, Economic Sense, who has had a project up in Africa improving the Dairy Production Value Chain. What an awesome project to be involved in! There have been a number of different aspects to what we have been doing…

Setting up a field lab

We set up a field lab at one of the dairy processing facilities so that they could check the quality of the raw milk and their products on-site.

Uplifting an existing food lab

Capacity building in Standard Operating Procedure drafting and implementation, training in techniques, implementing new test methods…all this and more to with a view to the lab becoming an amazing resource to the cause of food safety.

Research project

We set up a research project to see if a Zero Energy Cooling Chamber could be used to extend the life of dairy products…very exciting stuff!!
